On October 21st, 2011, Thomas Senkel of e-volo made the first manned flight with an electric multicopter at an airstrip in the southwest of Germany. The flight lasted one minute and 30 seconds, after which the constructor and test pilot stated: “The flight characteristics are good natured. @441rider In my opinion the Moller skycar is rubbish that has seen far too much money invested without any real results.
The budget was running low when they got to the landing gear, so they just said “Fuck it, I’ve got an extra yoga ball in my garage!”
Wonder what would happen if the ball popped during landing? XD
The design of the pilot sitting above a dozen exposed rotors perched on a bouncing ball… brilliant.
