Is there a device that lets you play your MP3 player using the car’s auxiliary adapter?

Question by Catherine D: Is there a device that lets you play your MP3 player using the car’s auxiliary adapter?
Is there a device that allows you to plug your MP3 player into the car’s auxiliary power plug (used to be the old cig lighter thingy). I don’t have a cassette player to use that type of adapter.
Please, a yes or no answer is stupid. So I shall rephrase…Can someone give me the NAME of a device that does this.

Will a outlet adapter work for my regularly car outlet powered device?

Question by Wissen: Will a outlet adapter work for my regularly car outlet powered device?
i have this massage cushion that i received for christmas. The cushion only supports and came with a car adapter. I cannot put over my seats in my vehicle so i am trying to buy a proper adapter. The requirements for the cushion are an input of 12V DC 1000mA. The adapter I found converts an input of 110-220V AC and has an output of 12V DC 500 mA. My question is, will the converter work and supply the correct amount of power to my cushion?

Best answer:

Answer by Randy
No. The output is only half of the load current needed. Try building your own power supply by using a transformer ( secondary output 12 vac 1 amp. or more, a full wave rectifier & the proper cconnector tohook to your car cord.

can i use the power from a regular Ac car adapter to power a regular device ?

Question by Archangel: can i use the power from a regular Ac car adapter to power a regular device ?
So i was wondering, i have this car adapter for my cellphone, which charges through a regular usb connector. So i was wondering if i cut the cables and connected them to a regular 2 legged device if it would work. i was thinking of modding the connectors to plug to the pins on my battery laptop charger.

What is the voltage on the cigarette lighter ? anything else that i should take in count ? thanks for any advice.

I don’t know what you mean by cutting it and something (what is a “regular 2 legged device” ???).

But if you do NOT know what you are doing EXACTLY, don’t do it.

Car battery is 12v – but can supply hundreds of amps. Through the cigarette lighter it can supply from 10 to 20 amps (that 120 watt to 240 watt). Easily fry your laptop and other electronics.

good Luck..
