How to do an auto to manual swap in Nissan hard body?

Question by : How to do an auto to manual swap in Nissan hard body?
I have a 1994 Nissan SE V6 4×4 and I’ve recently came into the possession of a manual transmission. I am in the process of taking my whole car apart to put it together with the new transmission. If anyone has any tips or a detailed explanation that would be very helpful. Also if you’re going to reply just to tell me that I should take it to a “professional” you’ve come to the wrong question. Thank you.

Tip: you will need the engine computer from a manual model

Why are cars still made with 4 speed auto transmissions but not 4 speed manual?

Question by : Why are cars still made with 4 speed auto transmissions but not 4 speed manual?
And also, why do cars that are offered in both manual and auto often have a different number of gears on each transmission (i.e, I have a 5 speed manual Kia Soul, but the automatic version is only 4 speed)? Does it have to do with weight or cost perhaps?

Best answer:

Answer by Kerry
to achieve the greater mileage, a stick may offer more gears to get to optimum mileage/engine
rpms…or ‘over drive’
automatics depending on size of car or engine, dont need to offer all the gears that a stick
does cuz they cant get to the level that a stick does, not to mention the cost of the tranny to
do that so what they put in them is adequate for the car and what it is to achieve on the road.

automatics dont get the mileage a stick does cuz autos use fluid under pressure whcih allows
for alot of slippage, where as a clutch drive car is direct hook up of gears/no slippage/no waste.
