How to you charge a car GPS navigation system battery on a 9 hour drive?

Question by : How to you charge a car GPS navigation system battery on a 9 hour drive?
I’m embarking on a trip from North Carolina to Ohio at the end of the month and I’d like to purchase a new car GPS system. I have very limited knowledge of how they work in general, but it is my understanding that the battery life is 3-4 hours. How does one use the GPS on a 9 hour drive? Should I shut down the GPS in situations where I’m perhaps on one highway for several hours?

Also, any GPS recommendations? Thank you!

Any GPS you buy will have a power cord that plugs into the vehicle outlet and keeps the battery charged.

As to recommendations, it depends on what is important to you. In my case TomTom works best for me.
