please help me understand the solution to this physics problem? car going down a slope?

Question by : please help me understand the solution to this physics problem? car going down a slope?
A car traveling at 34.28 m/s runs out of gas while traveling up a 37° slope. How far up the hill will it coast before starting to roll back down?

I suppose that in answering this question we are expected to neglect friction and equate present KE to increase in PE.

0.5*m*v^2 = m*g*h where m = mass of car, v = present speed, g = accn due to gravity, h = gain in height.

h = 0.5*v^2/g = 59.9m

This is a vertical height. The distance traveled along the slope is 59.9/sin(34.28) = 106.3m

I have assumed that the given angle is measured with respect to the horizontal.

no, antifreeze also has anti-corrosion properties in it as well. Just keep the same mix through the year, it doesn’t need changing very often at all

Umm no. You need to get the head gasket fixed. You are destroying your engine, but now it may be too late.
