Question by Dandy Doo: Is there any way to fix a decent-sized dent on my car bumper without a trip to the auto repair?
Walked out from the grocery store and found a decent-sized dent on my front bumper. It’s not too bad, I already washed the paint off. I was wondering if I could fix this dent myself without a money draining trip to the auto repair. I’m a college student so I’m low on cash. I remember my father fixing dents on his car by hammering it out. Any methods that work will help. Thanks

Most likely you have a plastic bumper (cover).
They are “thermoplastic” which means they are molded with heat. When they are hit, the heat generated by the impact causes it to take another set. You can use a heat gun, manipulation and cold water to re-set it, OR if you can get behind it, just keep stuffing wadded up newspaper behind the dent until it pops back into a better shape. Then after parking in the hot sun for a week or so it should stay that way.
If it is a metal bumper, you gotta take that off and whop on it with a hammer!
